"I Am The Doctor" is Murray Gold's theme for the Eleventh Doctor.

It was usually played when the Doctor was being heroic or when a problem was being solved, and was heavily featured in advertisements for the programme. It was first used in The Eleventh Hour and first appeared on home audio on the series 5 soundtrack.

In spite of the track not appearing regularly as incidental music in the Twelfth Doctor era, the song continued to be used as trailer music during the era, as well as brief notes in Death in Heaven and The Pyramid at the End of the World playing. It was later used in Twice Upon a Time, when the Testimony showed the First and Twelfth Doctors information on themselves.

Appearances in Doctor Who

At least one variation of I Am The Doctor is used in every Eleventh Doctor episode. Variations also appear in TV: Death in Heaven, TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World and TV: Twice Upon a Time. Additionally, versions of the theme appear in the first and last Adventure Games, GAME: City of the Daleks and GAME: The Gunpowder Plot.

Outside of Doctor Who

The piece is used as the opening and closing theme to the French baking programme Le Meilleur Pâtissier. Other pieces of music from the BBC Wales production are also used occasionally in episodes.
