Future of DVD releases[[edit source]]

I'm not sure if this would be appropriate for this article or another, or if it's been covered, and that is now that Disney+ - a streaming network that does not release DVD or Blu-rays of its programming - will be the non-UK streamer for Doctor Who beginning with either the 60th anniversary specials or Series 14 (there have been mixed messages on that), the question arises whether there will be any further home video releases of at least the "new Who" era outside the UK going forward. As the BBC will still air the show in the UK, it's likely permanent physical releases will continue in Region 2, but the assumption right now is that The Power of the Doctor will be the final physical release of the modern era outside Region 2. Does anyone know anything different? I know with storylines we don't post about things until they are released, but in terms of format, do the same rules apply? (I presume none of this applies to the Classic Era, as it seems the BBC aims to reissue as much of 1963-89 in Blu-ray format as possible and I doubt Disney+ plays any role in that) 23skidoo 22:27, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

So I know you're not super active, just to make sure you're aware, we've got temporary forums up at Tardis:Temporary forums, and there were some changes to our spoiler policies at Tardis:Temporary forums/Archive/Changing the Spoiler Policy.
With that said, I'm getting mixed messaging when I'm looking into this issue. The older releases have as their studio on Amazon "BBC Entertainment" in the US, as do the classic season releases, but then a lot of the more recent nu-series releases are by "Studio Distribution Services", but Flux just says "BBC", as does the complete Whittaker Collection and Eve + LotSD (even as PotD says SDS). Without official comment I dunno what we can say tbh. Najawin 23:13, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
