Behind the scenes
- Sooty's namesake is the eponymous character of The Sooty Show, appearing alongside Sweep and Soo.
- The short story, It's Raining Gin, (part of the Curse of Fanfic! charity anthology published by Obverse Books), showed that Sooty, Sweep, and Sue (the puppets) were good friends of Iris Wildthyme and Panda, having several adventures together. The story would give an explanation as to why Sooty is mute - as Wombats from Metebelis IV stole it his voice.
