Dirk Slipstream
Dirk Slipstream was a criminal from the far future who menaced the Doctor on several occasions.
Following one meeting with an incarnation of the Doctor, Dirk was sentenced to one hundred years in the Volag-Noc prison for every person he killed during a jewel heist - around seven thousand years in total. However, he served only six years before he managed to escape and steal the Golden Bough.
He then went searching for the Mymon Key, an object of unlimited power, on the planet Gyre. Slipstream was killed by carnivorous Sollogs while making one last desperate bid for the Mymon Key. Several moments later the Gyre was destroyed by the Schuler-Khan comet.
His death was reported to both Volag-Noc and the Intergalactic Crime Bureau. (PROSE: Night of the Humans)
Behind the scenes
- Precisely what body the Doctor was in when he last caught Slipstream was never specified. The Eleventh Doctor reflected that it had been "years and regenerations" since he'd last seen Slipstream, but given Slipstream's knowledge of the Time War, the Eighth or War Doctors seem the most likely candidates.
