Lovett Bickford (8 April 1942[1]-29 July 2018[2]) directed the Doctor Who television story The Leisure Hive. He had earlier been the assistant floor manager for The War Machines (uncredited[3], with Margot Hayhoe) and The Moonbase, and was interviewed in the documentary A New Beginning.

He was reportedly never allowed to work on Doctor Who after The Leisure Hive because he had gone severely over budget. (DWM 191)

Career[[edit] | [edit source]]

He also directed episodes of Z-Cars, Angels and Emmerdale.
