Pingu is a stop motion children's television series created by Otmar Gutmann and Erika Brueggemann which originally aired in Switzerland, and was originally produced by The Pygos Group and for SF DRS in Switzerland, and was later revived in the United Kingdom for CBeebies by British companies HIT Entertainment and HOT Animation.

The series also had a Japanese reboot entitled Pingu in the City (Japanese: ピングー in ザ・シティ, Hepburn: Pingū in za Shiti), which was computer-animated and co-produced by Mattel Creations, NHK, NHK Enterprises, and Polygon Pictures, as well as airing on NHK Educational TV in Japan from 7 October 2017 to 30 March 2019.

The series principally stars the titular Pingu and his family of anthropomorphic emperor penguins, who live in the South Pole. Pingu in the City had them move to a large city.

"Noot, noot!" (TV: Future Generations)

The series briefly crossed over with the Doctor Who universe in the 1998 BBC promotional video Future Generations, which featured a young boy travelling through the settings of several series, including Doctor Who.

The titular character of Pingu made a brief appearance in the promo, riding a scooter in Toyland (from Noddy's Toyland Adventures), before turning as Noddy and the boy drive through in Noddy's car, Pingu letting out a signature "Noot, noot!".
