Most Haunted was a programme where EMF readers were used to detect ghosts.

Tanya Adeola got an idea to use EMF readers in the old stone house from Most Haunted. (PROSE: The Stone House)

Torchwood House appeared in an episode of Most Haunted. (AUDIO: Regrets)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

After "ghosts" started appearing across Earth in the television story Army of Ghosts, Derek Acorah, who was playing himself, proclaimed, "Well, no-one needs me any more." In the real world, Acorah worked as a medium on Most Haunted at the time Army of Ghosts aired. The gag here was that as "ghosts" started appearing, this would have meant his job was now obsolete.

The unproduced episode Century House, written by Tom MacRae, would have involved the Tenth Doctor joining a live broadcast of Most Haunted as it investigated a house purportedly haunted by the "Red Widow", while Donna Noble watched from home. The episode was scrapped in part because Russell T Davies was dissatisfied with the premise, as well as the tone being too similar to The Unicorn and the Wasp, with which Century House would have originally aired back-to-back.
