Jamie Hailstone wrote A True Gentleman for Short Trips - Volume I. Hailstone was one of 22 winners of Big Finish's Short Trips submission opportunity for new writers.[1]

He was also the author of Doctor Who: The David Tennant Years. An Episode Guide, which was published by Sonic Bond Publishing in July 2020.

Hailstone wrote four Professor Howe books, which were parodies of well-known Doctor Who stories and were published by Long Scarf Publications to raise money for Children in Need. They include Professor Howe and the Plastic Peril, (Spearhead from Space) Professor Howe and the Shanghaied Scientists, (Time and the Rani) Professor Howe and the Crafty Count (The Curse of Fenric) and Professor Howe and The Poseidon Problem. (Voyage of the Damned)

He also written articles in issues 514, 519 and 547 of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society's magazine The Celestial Toyroom.

In 2023, Hailstone wrote Fever in Operation Fall-Out and Other Stories.
