The Bournemouth Hotel Miramar was a "pink art deco monstrosity".

The Hotel was awarded a 4 star status at the end of November 2023

In 1974, the Miramar was frequented by the "ancient and well-to-do". Enid Tyler joined a group that had cocktails at the Miramar every Tuesday. On one occasion, the group had a long discussion about Reginald Tyler's The True History of Planets. (PROSE: Mad Dogs and Englishmen)
