Jabot

A jabot was a decorative clothing accessory consisting of lace or other fabric falling from the throat, suspended from or attached to a neckband or collar, or simply pinned at the throat since the Georgian era, and also worn on the Victorian and Edwardian era.[source needed]

The Third Doctor wore jabots; one in white during the Second Nestene invasion of Earth, (TV: Terror of the Autons) and one patterned during the Daemonic Deception. (TV: The Dæmons) The Seventh Doctor tried a copy of his white jabot before sticking to a scarlet paisley tie after the recent regeneration. (TV: Time and the Rani)

Some of the Clockwork Repair Droids who served on the SS Madame de Pompadour during 5037 wore white jabots as part of their costumes when seeking Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson in Paris and Versailles during 1727, 1744, 1753, and 1758. (TV: The Girl in the Fireplace)

Mrs Peace wore a raven black jabot up to her death on Cardiff during 1869. (TV: The Unquiet Dead)
