• Marks refers to Louis Marx whose company, Marx Toys, produced Dalek toys. Marx Daleks were used in The Evil of the Daleks ^[+]Loading...["The Evil of the Daleks (TV story)"] and Planet of the Daleks ^[+]Loading...["Planet of the Daleks (TV story)"]. Louis Marks was also the name of a Doctor Who writer who penned one Dalek story, Day of the Daleks ^[+]Loading...["Day of the Daleks (TV story)"].
• This story accompanied a nostalgia feature on Genesis of the Daleks that appeared in DWM 179. A preview of its double VHS release, which also included The Sontaran Experiment ^[+]Loading...["The Sontaran Experiment (TV story)"], was also contained within.
• This story marked the sole appearance of Harry Sullivan in the Doctor Who? series.
