Stan was a friend of Mickey Smith. When Rose Tyler's home became unsafe due to Roboforms who were after the newly regenerated Tenth Doctor, Mickey suggested that they could go and stay at Stan's. Rose argued against this as Stan only lived two streets away. (TV: The Christmas Invasion)
