A time loop converter was a device capable of containing the energy released when a time loop broke.

P.R.O.B.E. had a time loop converter in storage hold by 2014. When Paul Reynish, a soldier who had been kept eternally youthful by an experimental government program, was severed from his supply of the immortality-granting substance, it was predicted that his death might cause a devastating explosion unless it was contained. P.R.O.B.E. was contacted, and Liz began searching P.R.O.B.E. HQ for a time loop converter with enough capacity to contain the reaction. Box, recently repaired by Giles, informed them of where the large converter, which resembled an odd-looking chair, could be found. (HOMEVID: When to Die [+]Loading...["When to Die (home video)"])
