Real world references

  • The supposed symptoms Mel ascribes to "Saturday Night Fever" are verbatim lyrics from "Greased Lightnin'", a song from the musical Grease, which was performed primarily by John Travolta in the popular 1978 film. Travolta also starred in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever.
