Showing Initiative was the tenth story in the Bernice Summerfield anthology Something Changed. It was written by David Cromarty.
Summary
Paul Stevens has come to the Braxiatel Collection to study. He is employed by Jason to catalogue the collection. Soon he is tasked to find a missing item.

- Like most of the other stories in this anthology, this story takes place in an altered timeline created by Doggles' history machine; these timelines are (mostly) erased when Braxiatel returns things to normal.
