The Smell of Death was an unproduced spin-off graphic novel by AUK Studios and Chinbeard Books, to be written by Barnaby Eaton-Jones.[1]

Description

"WE DEAL WITH THE ODD, THE UNEXPLAINED, ANYTHING ON EARTH, OR EVEN BEYOND..."

What if the Brigadier from Doctor Who was involved with a Hammer Horror type film, undercover, and enlisted the help of the actor who was playing the lead – a certain Jon Pertwee?

That’s the unique comedy/horror premise of this full colour, feature-length, graphic novel we hope you’ll pre-order, where aliens are the real power behind The Smell of Death film that’s being made and distributed in order to take over the world (aren’t those pesky aliens always after that?).

The publishers, Chinbeard Books, in partnership with Andrews UK (and AUK Studios), have been putting out Doctor Who-related and cult TV memoirs and charity anthologies for a fair few years now; as well as writing new and official adventures for classic TV series like Robin of Sherwood and classic TV comedy like The Goodies.

Cancellation

On 22 March 2024, AUK Studios announced that they had cancelled the project, expressing their regrets for calling it quits before the campaign goal had been reached, but announcing that they had acquired new linking licenses which meant that they would now be able to make an even bigger story than had been originally planned, still featuring the Brigadier.[2]

Notes

  • Agent Perfect is an original character from AUK Studios who has her own three-volume set of graphic novels. She is a clumsy, but kind-hearted MI6 spy.
