Percy Wollstonecraft was the editor of the Metropolitan in the early 1980s and "never one to miss an opportunity", in the words of Kevin W. Parker.

After Sarah Jane Smith retiried from active UNIT service (and, more secretly, from being a companion of the Doctor), she had some difficulty starting her career anew, as her lackadaisical attitude towards her Earth-bound work had earned her a bit of a bad reputation in those years of adventures. She consequently spread the word around that she had been engaged in top-secret government work, leading to Wollstonecraft hiring her to create a three-pages article which provided the public with its first glimpse of UNIT. This indeed helped restart Sarah Jane's career as a journalist. (PROSE: The Roving Reporter)
