Forbidden Planet was a chain of shops in the 21st century which sold science fiction and horror books, DVDs, comic books and audio plays. It took its name from a 1950s science fiction film.

Forbidden Planet sells a wide variety of Doctor Who products, including comics, toys, and home video releases.
The real life Shaftesbury Avenue megastore was used as the basis for the fictitious Prohibited Sphere Megastore in The Fourth Wall.
