Samuel Smythe

Samuel Smythe was a scholar from Oxford in the 16th century. He was due to tutor Lady Jane Grey in Bradgate in 1553; however, he never arrived. Jane used this fact to save the First Doctor by pretending to recognise him as her tutor. (PROSE: The Nine-Day Queen)
