Jimmy Carr hosted and co-wrote The Big Fat Quiz of the Year both the 2013 edition and 2015's The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz. During this he discussed and showed clips of Doctor Who during its fiftieth year. He additionally appeared in a small skit on the show with a bronze Dalek voiced by Nicholas Briggs.

Carr has put Doctor Who at the centre of his light-hearted television jokes.
He has previously expressed distaste towards the series, saying in early 2005, "It strikes me as very unfair that Doctor Who has now had eight lives whereas the fans of Doctor Who haven't even got one."[1]
In his live performance Comedian he joked that Stephen Hawking's voice sounded like a Dalek. Later, during his In Concert tour, he stated that Daleks never used to scared him as a kid until disabled wheelchair access.
Doctor Who has been a subject to other jokes, especially during 8 Out of 10 Cats. On one episode he said, "Doctor Who - People say the show is not realistic, but I think it is; it's featured 11 different Doctors and I've never seen a single one of them washing their hands". He also said on another episode that "44% of Brits think we should have a space programme. But Britain does have a space programme - Doctor Who".
His Who connections don't stop, as he has also appeared on QI telling people he believed disabled wheelchair access was a Dalek conspiracy.
Also, during 2013 he posted up false remarks on Twitter about Peter Davison (incorrectly spelt Peter Davidson) about him being sexist because he was against a female incarnation of the Doctor.[2] Davison denied it. He also tweeted the same year that he was not playing the Twelfth Doctor, unless they had cast him and he didn't know. This was in response to rumours to the contrary of the time.[3]
On 23 November 2013, Carr appeared on an episode of The Graham Norton Show at the same time as David Tennant and Matt Smith. During this he asked a Doctor Who fan what he thought it'd be like to "touch a girl", during which Tennant signed the fan's arm. His iconic laugh can also be heard when Matt Smith confronted a look-alike of himself.
In 2015 he appeared in a Doctor Who skit titled Jimmy Carr and the Dalek.
In 2015, during the sixth episode of the second series of The Gadget Man, Carr made a comparison between a house and a TARDIS.
