Dalek command saucers held a complement of patrol ships and hoverbouts. (PROSE: The Jeopardy of Solar Proximity)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Following the appearances of Dalek Attack Ships in the 2013 television stories The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor, a similar but distinct vehicle named "Dalek patrol ship" was released as a toy by Character Options. Unlike the fighter pod, the patrol ship was bronze in colour and sported a smaller amount of sense globes on the "pop-off armoured flight panels", which were coloured gold, much like a Bronze Dalek. An enlarged gunstick "firing cannon", with a blue energy beam "missile", was placed atop the dome. The patrol ship was piloted by a single bronze-type Dalek. The "Dalek pilot" included within had a black dome and alternating black panels on its base unit - a colour scheme reminiscent of the Dalek saucer commander.

In addition, Character Options released a "Dalek security patrol ship". This "stealth" version was coloured black with silver globes and red missile and accents. The Dalek pilot was predominantly black with a red dome with silver slats and globes.

The first reference to Dalek patrol ships in the DWU occured in the 2017 short story The Jeopardy of Solar Proximity.
