A Dalek flying saucer survived the fall of the New Dalek Empire (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe) and fell through time to 1941, acquiring the last Dalek Progenitor. This ship hid behind the Moon. When the three surviving Daleks on board were confronted by the Eleventh Doctor, they used a beacon on the ship to activate all the lights in London, leaving it vulnerable to the German Blitz, distracting him long enough for the New Dalek Paradigm to be created. Enhanced Spitfires were sent to destroy the beacon. Two were destroyed by the Dalek defence guns mounted around the saucer, but the Eleventh Doctor disabled the ship's shields and the dish was destroyed. Defenceless, the Supreme Dalek revealed that Edwin Bracewell was powered by an Oblivion Continuum, threatening to detonate it if the Doctor did not withdraw. Though the Doctor and Danny Boy returned to Earth, the Supreme began arming the Continuum only for Amy Pond to rally Bracewell against the Dalek programming, disarming it. Nonetheless, the Daleks had bought enough time to establish a time corridor, escaping to their own time to rebuild their race. (TV: Victory of the Daleks)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The interior of the flying saucer seen in Victory of the Daleks was not specially made for the episode - it was in fact filmed in the storage room of an empty cigar factory.
