Michael Feeney Callan is a prominent Irish writer. He was commissioned by the BBC to write a serial for Season 23 of Doctor Who; his script, titled The Children of January, was scrapped after the near-cancellation of Who in the 1985, one of several scripts which were aborted in favour of the Trial of a Time Lord serial. Like Yellow Fever and How to Cure It, it was never adapted into a novel or audio drama.
