Castro Street
Castro Street was a street in San Francisco, California that was the location of a bar where the Eighth Doctor and Sam Jones encountered the vampire Eva in 1976.
When she first saw the Doctor at the bar that night, Carolyn McConnell thought that his Oscar Wilde-like outfit was flamboyant even by Castro Street standards. (PROSE: Vampire Science) When the notoriously crooked street Lombard Street became straight as a result of temporal anomalies in 2002, the Doctor joked that things were okay as long as Castro Street hadn't gone straight.
