Lan was a Movellan serving under Commander Sharrel on the mission to Skaro.

Lan was left to guard the Dalek command centre while the Fourth Doctor and Sharrel investigated. He appeared to be killed when a Dalek blasted him down before he could use his gun.
Despite his apparent demise, Lan was later repaired by the android Movellans and confronted Romana aboard their ship. He was assigned to guard the Nova device when it was set up to destroy Skaro but was ambushed by Tyssan and deactivated. His communicator was then used to bait Agella, so that her power device could be stolen and she could be deactivated also. He was then reprogrammed to assist the slave workers in attacking the Movellan ship. (TV: Destiny of the Daleks)
