Mrs Merridew was a maid at Woolsthorpe Manor by 1666.

Biography

In 1666, Mrs Merridew was sweeping the front step of the manor when she greeted Isaac Newton as he went to sit under an apple tree to "contemplate the mysteries of God's universe." Appearance

Behind the scenes

Susan Twist, Mrs Merridew's actor, appeared in The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"] less than a month later as an unnamed woman. The script for The Church on Ruby Road, released online in February 2024, implied the two characters are intended to be one and the same.[1] She subsequently also appeared as Gina Scalzi in Space Babies [+]Loading...["Space Babies (TV story)"], a Tea Lady in The Devil's Chord [+]Loading...["The Devil's Chord (TV story)"], ambulances in Boom [+]Loading...["Boom (TV story)"] and a hiker in 73 Yards [+]Loading...["73 Yards (TV story)"]. However, as no connection has been revealed in any valid source, the characters remain separate on this wiki.
