(TV: The Girl in the Fireplace [+]Loading...["The Girl in the Fireplace (TV story)"])

The character of Travis Bickle is not named directly in The Girl in the Fireplace [+]Loading...["The Girl in the Fireplace (TV story)"]. Instead, the connection is later made by Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia [+]Loading...["Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia (reference book)"].

In the film, Bickle plotted to assassinate a US presidential candidate. This served as the inspiration for John Hinckley Jr to attempt to assassinate Ronald Reagan. The assassination attempt and motive are depicted in the short story The Assassin's Story [+]Loading...["The Assassin's Story (short story)"], but Travis Bickle and the film Taxi Driver were not mentioned.
