"The Steve Cole Personalised Novel" is a title based upon conjecture.

In 1999, Steve Cole retired from his position as editor of BBC Books' Eighth Doctor Adventures and Past Doctor Adventures lines. To mark the event, he was presented with a personalised novel with chapters by different writers from the ranges.

Chris Boucher contributed "Interlude 1", a transcript of an interrogation of Carnell which, as Cole described it, "did insinuate that I was the love child of Servalan and the BBC's Director-General."[1]
