This page is for discussing the ways in which Black Orchid doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.
Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

- The Mackenzie Trent police box, which the Doctor's TARDIS is disguised as did not exist until 1929, four years after the events of this story, yet the policemen recognise it.
- Police boxes of a similar design had been put into use starting in 1923; police boxes in general had been in use in Britain since 1891.
- Just how old is Nyssa? She tries to order an alcoholic beverage but the Doctor cuts her off with a loud cough and stops her.
- Her actual age in Traken or even Earth years is irrelevant; she appears to be one of "the children" like Adric and as such should act like one in the environment in which they find themselves. Alternatively, perhaps the Doctor knows that vodka (or orange juice) would be harmful to her for some reason. (Nyssa doesn't know what a screwdriver is, she just asks for the same as Tegan.)
- Nyssa doesn't really know much of Earth (being an alien) and so she just thought it sounded interesting and decided to ask for it.
- How do the Cranleighs and their servants know what a screwdriver is? The cocktail didn't exist yet. Googling indicates it either began with captured American fliers in World War II, or US oil rig workers in the Persian Gulf, both well after 1925.
- This was either artistic licence, or Terence Dudley slipped up in his research.
- In the Doctor Who universe, the screwdriver could've been invented earlier than the real world screwdriver.
- This was either artistic licence, or Terence Dudley slipped up in his research.
- I'm shock Lady Cranleigh got away. She tried to frame the Doctor for murder and lied. Any sane policeman mighta arrested her. How do you think she must be punished?
