Susan and the Daleks was the second minisode included amongst the interviews within the 1993 television special 30 Years in the TARDIS. It was also included in the extended 1994 home video reworking of the special, entitled More than 30 Years in the TARDIS, which contained an extended cut of the minisode, though in the process, it also cut some footage present in the televised version, showing Susan running up the marble stairs from the perspective of the Dalek eyestalk.

It featured Carole Ann Ford returning to the part of Susan in live-action, and was also notable for featuring the first appearance of a Dalek hoverbout in live-action.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

Susan is chased by the Daleks.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

Flying the Doctor's TARDIS, Susan has found herself in London and is relaxing on a bench when she realises to her terror that she has unwittingly landed on the 2150s Dalek-invaded Earth she knows too well. Running from a Red Dalek and a Silver Dalek, she makes her way back into the TARDIS and takes off, but the Red Dalek, watching her take off, orders the Blue Chrono-Dalek after her.

In another time zone, Susan has landed the TARDIS, and a boy wanders in. Deciding to humour the child's wonder at the ship's dimensional transcendentalism, she begins to show him how to work the controls. However, they are interrupted when the Blue Dalek appears, entering the ship to threaten them.
