Massacre

A massacre was a high death toll. In some engagements if more than half the combatants are killed it was a massacre, in other engagements when there are fewer than two combatants from each side left it was called by those remaining a massacre. Massacres were used by various powers; aliens and ruling governments as a method of instilling fear and control in a population and to show the power of the leaders.
