Zomite
Zomites were a species of "intelligent insects" native to the planet Skaro. They resembled blue spheres with four stub-like limbs.

When the First Doctor, Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright landed on Skaro, the insects swarmed the trio from holes in the ground and attacked them. Daleks then arrived at the scene and attacked the Zomites, easily destroying them with their gunsticks. The Daleks stated that the Zomites were their pests and because the three assisted their extermination, the Daleks allowed them to leave unharmed. (COMIC: The Daleks Destroy the Zomites)

Sometime after 2022, (TV: The Power of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Power of the Doctor (TV story)"]) Ian Chesterton told the companion support group of his adventure with the Zomites. After Ian's passing, the group reminsced about Ian and his tales. Ryan was skeptical his claims, but Mel assured him that Ian was telling the truth.
