The "David Tennant effect", as named by Rishi Sunak, referred to Jodie Whittaker regenerating back into David Tennant, instead of "the new bloke".

History

Rishi Sunak claimed that he'd been prepared to defend his record when he discovered the David Tennant effect, becoming afraid that if anything happened to him, Prime Ministerial evolution might go backwards too. He was proven correct when a studio light fell on him, causing him to regenerate back into Liz Truss, then Boris Johnson, and finally Theresa May.
