A young Time Technician, who was a distinguished Time Lord scientist, (PROSE: The Five Doctors [+]Loading...["The Five Doctors (novelisation)"]) was asked by Lord President Borusa to free the Fourth Doctor from a time eddy in order to join his other incarnations in the Death Zone.
