The Duplicate Doctor and Rose was an instalment in The Doctor's Data and the twelfth overall in Doctor Who Adventures #72, published by BBC Magazines in July 2008.[source needed] It was written by Mel Bezalel.

This instalment covered the Duplicate Doctor and Rose Tyler.

Summary

Rose Tyler and the Duplicate Doctor met in the Crucible due to the former being launched out of her parallel universe by UNIT's Dimension Cannon and the latter being created by a "human biological metacrisis" from the Tenth Doctor's hand.

The Duplicate Doctor's mind, despite being half-human, is just as "brilliant" as the Tenth Doctor's. Rose is "super-smart, brave and determined". Together, they form a great team.

Due to having a single heart, the Duplicate Doctor appears to be mortal just like Rose, so they are able to stay together. And, as they own a chunk of TARDIS, their future golds the potential for many adventures.

Characters

(In order of appearance)

Worldbuilding

  • Rose "tests" the Duplicate Doctor to see how similar he is to "the real thing", by kissing him.

Notes

  • Rose's kiss of the Duplicate Doctor to test how similar he is to the Tenth Doctor carries the inference that she, at some point off-screen, kissed the Tenth Doctor.

Continuity

  • This story primarily covers the Duplicate Doctor and Rose's decision to remain in "Pete's World", as seen in TV: Journey's End [+]Loading...["Journey's End (TV story)"].
