Roger ap Gwilliam became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and led the world to the brink of a nuclear war. (TV: 73 Yards ^[+]Loading...["73 Yards (TV story)"]) He also made DNA testing mandatory within the United Kingdom. That same year, Gwilliam was overthrown, an event for which the Doctor was present. In a timeline caused by the Fifteenth Doctor stepping on a fairy circle and vanishing in 2024, his former companion Ruby Sunday, remembering the Doctor's comments about Gwilliam, joined his Albion Party as a volunteer in the hopes of stopping him. After his election as Prime Minister, Ruby manipulated him into engaging with the mysterious woman she had been haunted by since the Doctor's disappearance, which caused him to resign from office and be succeeded by his Deputy Prime Minister, Iris Cabriola. After Sutekh created his Empire of Death by eradicating almost all life in the Doctor's universe, the Doctor and Ruby visited a version of 2046 "preserved in death" while seeking information on the identity of Ruby's birth mother, as Sutekh was keeping them both alive as that piece of information was one of the few things he did not know. The Doctor, Ruby and Melanie Bush visited the Ministry of Health and searched in the DNA database established by Roger ap Gwilliam. After finding the information, however, Sutekh was able to turn Mel into one of his servants, and she brought the Doctor and Ruby before the god.
