A many-armed, "octopus-looking robot" with a tiny two-eyed head was one of the operators at the dysfunctional call centre of a firm who employed only robots. (TV: Robots Ad [+]Loading...["Robots Ad (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The octopus-looking robot being puppeteered.[1]

This character was one of seven original robot designs supplied to the production of the Robots Ad [+]Loading...["Robots Ad (TV story)"] by Studio Kite. The behind-the-scenes featurette posted on Facebook by Canberra Daleks & Robots informally referred to it as the "octopus-looking robot", though this was not a capitalised nickname used in writing as with Green Toy, Cyber Girl, the Pod Robot, or Torpedo Head. A brief segment highlighted the way its many tentacle-like arms were puppeteered using handheld struts which would be removed digitally for the finished picture.[1]
