Spikers were one of the many dangerous plant species in Styrakos, one of the Dark Places.

Nature

Spikers appeared as tall, rigid, purple-greyish stalks, a few inches thick, covered in sharp thorns — hence their name. History

Towards the end of one of Ty Rejutka Lupex's "hunts", his latest victim jumped unprotected through a wall of spikers while trying to reach the City. Unfortunately for him, the wall had concealed the edge of a cliff. He fell off and into a swampy pond where he was easily picked off by Lupex.
