Bombing of Guernica

In 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the Basque town of Guernica was bombed by the German Luftwaffe. The carnage was immortalised in the painting Guernica. The painting was commissioned to show the horrific nature of the bombing and was painted by Pablo Picasso.

Fitz Kreiner travelled to the Guernica and witnessed the bombing prior to his arrival. Many of the civilians fled the town and Fitz and Sasha offered them medical aid. The bombing continued for a long time, with several different types of plane taking part in the attack. Some survivors likened it to the apocalypse.
