The Many Origins of the Valeyard was a feature in The Sixth Doctor Sourcebook.

Summary

There are many possible origins of the Valeyard. He might be a portion of the Doctor's mind transferred into an artificial body by a future Doctor. He might have been created by Time Lords experimenting on the Doctor, possibly in the Last Great Time War, if they ever return from their pocket universe in Twelfth Doctor's life, or by an isolated group at the end of time known as the Archivists. Perhaps he was a creation of Daleks or Davros, the first attack of the Time War. He might have been made by the mysterious Andromedans. Perhaps he is what would be left of the Doctor if the Great Intelligence had corrupted the Doctor's time stream on Trenzalore. He could be the result of the Gallifreyan mental condition Twelfth Hour syndrome.
