Veronica Holmes was sent from the Ministry of Defence to inspect UNIT. She didn't the expense that UNIT cost her department.[statement unclear] She didn't approve of the Fifth Doctor appearing at the training exercise without being approved. She reluctantly went with the Doctor and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart to the Tremas Master's TARDIS to discover the threat level to Earth as she didn't believe them.
