Ryan Tockle was the morning manager at a New York City café in the 21st century when it was "robbed" by the so-called "doughnut ninja", in actuality Graelyn Scythes, who raided it for coffee and dougnuts in a ninja outfit, moving too fast to be recognised — paying in exact change and "leaving a 3000$ tip in the jar".
