The War Lord was the son of the original War Lord who led his species during the War Games. Physically, he was almost identical to his father, who was executed by the Time Lords via temporal erasure at his trial. The younger War Lord, who retained his father's title, developed a deep hatred of the Time Lords as a result.
When the War Lords reattempted the basic War Games plan with a singular focus on Nazi Germany, the War Lord led the Black Coven in his father's footsteps alongside the War Chief, at their base in Heinrich Himmler's castle of Drachensberg. He sought to create an army capable of galactic and universal conquest by helping Adolf Hitler win World War II.
In September 1939, he encountered the Doctor's seventh incarnation. The War Lord was killed when Hermann Goering's armoured column attacked Drachensberg and wiped out the Black Coven. The castle was oblierated shortly after when the Doctor overloaded its nuclear reactor. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Exodus)
