A junior make-up artist carries out basic make-up and hair work for the make-up artists, and functions as an on-set standby for make-up and changes. They are directed by the make-up supervisor.[1][2]

This position is a "step up" from both junior make-up assistant and make-up trainee.[3]

As of October 2018, Hanna Lewis-Jones was the only credited junior make-up artist for Doctor Who.
