The United Nations Intelligence Taskforce (British Section), (PROSE: The Ambassadors of Death) also known as UNIT-UK or UNIT UK, was the branch of UNIT that operated in the United Kingdom. (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon)

In 1957, General Farquhar was tasked with setting up UNIT's British division and did so with the help of Prentis. (TV: Survivors of the Flux)

Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart was the Commanding Officer of UNIT UK. He once spent a month trying to prevent Geneva from cutting UNIT UK's budget by 25 percent. He told the Third Doctor that UNIT UK would be broke in two weeks if they went after "every wacky cult in the country". (PROSE: Island of Death)

Brigadier Winifred Bambera learned from Centcomp that the Doctor was designated as the scientific advisor for UNIT UK under Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. (PROSE: Battlefield)

In 1997, Tom Ryder knew that Sarah Jane Smith was a civilian liaison to UNIT-UK from their reserve list of civilian staff. He learned that she joined in 1978 and assisted the the Doctor until 1982. (PROSE: Bullet Time)

In 1998, Brigadier Bambera was promoted to commander of UNIT-UK. She appointed Sergeant Jean-Paul Savarin as her second-in-command. (AUDIO: Rogue State) At this time UNIT HQ was located in Central London. It was disguised in plain sight by looking like a neglected building, sitting between a theatre and a language school. UNIT personnel monitored 999 calls for situations. (AUDIO: Time Flies) In 1999 UNIT UK’s headquarters was relocated to a base at the Tower of London. (AUDIO: The Last Line of Defence)

Muriel Frost was Head of Operations of UNIT-UK at the time of the London UFO crash and was accompanied to 10 Downing Street by Scientific Advisor Peter Reynolds and PR Delegate Alex Brook, where they were among the alien experts killed by the Slitheen. (PROSE: UNIT History)

In the 2000s UNIT remained headquartered at the Tower, which also held the Black Archive. (TV: The Day of the Doctor) In addition to the Tower, UNIT also operated bases elsewhere in Britain including an overfill facility for the Black Archive, (AUDIO: The Ghost of Bannerman Road) a victim-retrieval station in Hereford, (AUDIO: Dissected) and UNIT Base 5 beneath Mount Snowdon. UNIT UK responded to multiple alien incursions in the late 2000s, including the Sycorax invasion of Earth, (TV: The Christmas Invasion) the 2009 Sontaran invasion of Earth, (TV: The Sontaran Stratagem) and a wormhole opening in central London. (TV: Planet of the Dead)

By December 2011, UNIT’s forces in the UK were being led by Kate Stewart. (PROSE: For the Girl Who Has Everything) She lead UNIT throughout the 2010s. (TV: The Power of Three, The Day of the Doctor, Death in Heaven)

In 2012, the United States Air Force loaned an Aurora spyplane to UNIT UK. Sir Charles Finningley, Ambassador to the Court of St James, had six-man UNIT UK bodyguard team. (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon)
