History[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Dalek Invasion of Earth[[edit] | [edit source]]

Location filming at Butler's Wharf for the first episode "World's End"[1][2] occurred on the third day of filming for the serial on 27 August 1964.[1][3] Taking part in the day's filming were all four members of the regular cast, Kenton Moore, Martyn Huntley and Peter Badger playing Robomen, Dalek operator Robert Jewell and stunt double Peter Diamond.[1] Filming at Butler's Wharf was relatively minor, consisting only of an establishing shot[2] which showed Ian's point-of-view upon leaving the TARDIS.[1]

Other locations at which material was shot on that day included Hammersmith Bridge, Kew Rail Bridge and Irongate Wharf. Location filming for the serial then concluded the following day on 28 August at John's Hole Quarry.[1][3]
