The multiversal authority (PROSE: And Today, You ^[+]Loading...["And Today, You (novel)"]) known as the Council of Frogs were known to have coined the term "Third Universe" for the universe of the Archons. (PROSE: The Cactus and the Corpse ^[+]Loading...["The Cactus and the Corpse (short story)"]) Other universes following this style of naming included the Fourth Universe, (AUDIO: Quinnis ^[+]Loading...["Quinnis (audio story)"]) and the Prime Universe. Lord Thymon used the exclamation "By Frogs, it's so absurd" while addressing the idea that Auteur's people thought themselves to be the lords of time. (POEM: Auteur and the Homeworld ^[+]Loading...["Auteur and the Homeworld (poem)"])

Behind the scenes

• The Council of Frogs originated from the series The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids, as did the mentioned "Prime Universe".
• Coincidentally, the TV story It Takes You Away features the Solitract, a sentient universe which took the shape of a frog.
• Although the specific lore surrounding the Council of Frogs in The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids etc. belongs to Aristide Twain, the name "Council of Frogs" is a public domain concept free to use by anyone. One example is that of a 19th century caricature of the French Republican Council depicted as frogs with Napoléon's army as crocodiles. Another example is a 2023 graphic novel by writer Matt Emmons about an adventurous frog, called The Council of Frogs.
