Howling:Mirrors stop the weeping angels ?
I have previously suggested mirrors as a possible thing to watch for and others have suggested eyes themselves. Further thoughts .... Given all the 'corner of your eye' stuff, (including Moffat having written a peice called that) we have several trailer shots in unseen episodes of close up shots of the Doctor, Amy and others turning thier heads slowly. Also, the Doctor not seeing the vampires in the mirror in the JR interview clip etc. And it links back to the doctor imprisonong Sister of Mine in mirrors, including 1 in the Tardis in Family of Blood... has she managed to escape? Most importantly though, could a mirror be used to keep a weeping angel from moving, as correctly positioned it would effectively be looking at itself ? Any thoughts ? 86.26.137.154 04:04, April 19, 2010 (UTC)
Do we know if the Angel can't observe themselves without turning into stone? Blink has only shown that they can't observe each other ...It would be very inconvenient if they can't observe themselves as there are many reflective surfaces other than mirror...and what if they could somehow see their own body part if they turn their head or whatever they have in their true form...203.168.176.42 07:29, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
Considering the doctor explains their behavior in evolutionary terms in Blink, that their stone form is only taken defensively and has progressed through evolution, I would say its doubtful seeing themselves would cause them to freeze. Something must prevent them from freezing when a regular (non-weeping angel) statue is looking at them, surely. And what would that be? Recognition of what is alive and and what is not. From that, its not too far of a leap to the Angels know the differnece between "self" and "other." I'd say from and evolutionary standpoint, they can at least look at their arm and other body parts. If they've adapted so well, but couldn't look at their own limbs, then they would have evolved in a different manner. But as for the mirror. You might have a point. remember though whatever takes the image of an angel is an angel
