Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan (born 28th May 1985) played Sally Sparrow in Blink.
Mulligan made her major debut in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride & Prejudice as one of the Bennet sisters (another Bennet sister was played in this film by another future Doctor Who guest star, Talulah Riley). Prior to her Doctor Who appearance her work has mainly focused on similar TV costume dramas, such as the 2005 TV version of Bleak House and the 2007 series The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard. Among her post-Blink work has been the TV film My Boy Jack, which co-starred Daniel Radcliffe, and the upcoming film Brothers, starring Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal.
In 2009, Mulligan's star began to rise internationally as her film, An Education, opened to acclaim at major film festivals and she appeared on major US programmes like Late Show with David Letterman to promote it. In October 2009, Mulligan received the Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award at the 2009 Hollywood Awards.[1] She received a Best Actress nomination for the 2010 Golden Globe Awards, but lost to Sandra Bullock. On 2 February 2010 she became the fifth Doctor Who actor to be nominated for an Academy Award when she was nominated in the Best Actress category, but would again lose to Bullock.
On 21st February 2010 she won the award for best leading actress presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for her role in An Education.[2]
She is also featured in Oliver Stone's upcoming sequel to Wall Street.
