Pyrovile pod

The Pyrovile Pod was an escape pod made of rock, made by the Pyroviles.
The surviving Pyroviles from Pyrovillia were ground into dust inside the pod. The pod later became a control center for Vesuvius.
The Doctor and Donna Noble entered the pod, and triggered the eruption. The pod was tough enough to withstand the power of volcano, and the Doctor and Donna survived the eruption. (DW: The Fires of Pompeii)
